Greyflation
Share
Afternoon all! It's your friendly neighbourhood king-slayer here with another bout of Mierce madness, which this week includes lots of forthcomings and backgoings as well as news of prices rising for Grey Wulf resin...
Grey Wulf Prices Rising
Let's get the bad news out of the way first. Grey Wulf resin has proven to be a very remarkable material and after using it for well over a year we're convinced that it is the best material for our miniatures; while cast resin is more detailed, it is also far more brittle and is more expensive to make.
Like all things in this age of federal reserves, central banks and greedy banksters, however, it is beholden to inflation, just like everything else, and that means we'll have to increase the price of Grey Wulf resin miniatures in the next week or so.
More on that in an official post as and when, but I suggest you take advantage of the current prices now before I change them!
Cast resin prices won't be changing at the moment, though.
Digital Devilry
The first digital files are being uploaded to the webstore this week and uploading will continue into next week; once everything's in place (there's lots of files!) we'll do a digital sale to introduce them on here. While shopify's functionality is a bit limited in places it's actually very good for digital stuff; when you purchase a digital file, you get an e-mail with a download link. Don't lose that!
Time will tell as to whether we decide to come away from MMF, but we'll be leaving Patreon behind in the dust in the future. If you've been with us there, you'll know we've had no end of hassles with them and their payment systems; they're now changing them again, and there's just no point being there any longer.
Shopify Shenanigans
Speaking of Shopify, this past week I've been working on the site itself and (working with a programmer) have worked out a way to get each kindred's items on one page separated by class, like the old webstore. I'll be getting that sorted over the next few weeks, hopefully - stay tuned on that.
As well as that, the programmer I've been using has now added a way for me to add the contents of each product to the product description; again, I'll be getting those added in the next few weeks.
Ograx Antics
It's taking Ivan a little while to get all of the ograx finished - the poor fella's exhausted - but they are getting there: the ograx on rhinos are with me and just need to be supported, and while there's a couple of bits to finish on the ograx on foot (because I'm a finicky sod) they should all be done next week. Should. There's a word!
Cawrdraig Capers
Let's move on to some pretty pictures! Rafael Callegari has been pulling out all the stops to get the cawrdraig done for the end of October and he's managed it!
The results are, in my opinion, bloody stunning... but don't take my word for it: have a look yourself!
Casineg, Prifcawrdraig of Gwaelod
Expect them to reach the new webstore later on this month!
Gunnhrafn Gabbling
Thanks to the ministrations of Dray Win and Vitor Menezes, the gunnhrafn of the Norse are finally complete - and looking very nice indeed.
I will not talk more about why these guys have taken so long to complete, because I'm a professional (no coughing at the back).
Fiannagh Foolery
Inbetween getting the cawrdraig done Rafael Callegari has been working hard on the new fiannagh for next month's Irish. The foot guys are done, but he's been doing the cavalry of late and the results look fantastic!
I particularly love the shorn-off hooves of those dastardly gabrax buggers that bedevil the Irish so...
Stump Stumpings
Another Rafael of the Lozano variety has been working on the beastie for next month's battle host - Orach the stump beast!
Standing on a 100mm base, we predict that this fella will pop up everywhere in Érainn hosts - not least because he'll have some little stump scenery bits to place in various spots of the battlefield. Your enemies won't know which one is alive until he uproots himself and grabs you by the short and curlies!
Darklands Lite™
Sadly I didn't manage to get down to Boards and Swords at Derby (sorry Ian) to have a game of Darklands Lite™ this week - thanks to a trapped nerve in my shoulder - but I am hoping to get some games in before I head down to Bish's place again in November. Watch this space.
Cadwaladr Capers
...and finally, before you head off into the wild blue yonder of Le Weekend: let's have a look at Quinn Colvin's latest masterpiece, Cadwaladr the Blessed for the Brythoniaid, wielding Excalibur like a boss, as they say.
