The Look of the Irish

The Look of the Irish

Rob Lane

Today will be a short-ish Penda's Blog as I'm so bloody busy, but it will of course be packed with information, work in progress shots and nonsense. Not necessarily in that order.

The Irish Are-a-Comin'

I've been sweating away at the coal face this week trying to get the Irish ready for November's battle host, but I just don't quite have enough time today; I've done most of the graphics but only some of the supporting, so I'll get them released on Monday (with or without supports) and I'll support them into next week.

Here's (almost) what you can expect this month:

As you can see, you get a lot of infantry and a lot of cavalry in this month's battle host, although digital and physical hosts will differ somewhat. I'll say more on that with the proper run-down next week. Note too that Cormac (below) is missing from the above image, as well as Cormac Fir Danu, who's not yet sculpted (but will be next week).

Rafael Callegari has done a fantastic job on the new Cormac, he really has, so much so that we think this is his best work for us so far! Perhaps Cormac Fir Danu will be even better, who knows?

I have to say I'm enjoying doing the videos; I'll be uploading more to our youtube channel once the Irish are sorted next week, so watch out for those. There's already quite a few there in the new format, but I'll be going back along our range and doing more and more - monsters first, mind!

Kindred Pages

I've done a lot of the all-ream kindred pages this past week, as promised, showing all the miniatures in class order; I've got the individual realm pages to do for most of the kindreds, but I'm getting there.

To make it a little more intuitive to visit a kindred's realms, I've placed the realm icons on the top right with their name for each kindred, as you can see below.

You can click on those icons and be taken to a specific realm, although again, note I haven't done most of the realm pages. I've only really done Anglecynn and most of the Brythoniaid. I'll get the rest done next week, and there's lots more cosmetic changes to come.

Moar Lore

I know many of you are a bit frustrated by the amount of lore out there - and the long-awaited Savage Hordes book notwithstanding, there is some around, just not in a very intuitive place. So what I'll be doing to the kindred pages is adding links and so forth to all the lore that's publicly available, along with host pictures, games in progress featuring the miniatures from that kindred, and so forth. There's a lot out there - I just need to draw it together.

Rules and Musters Page

As well as that, I need to get the rules and musters page over here, and I shall endeavour to do that next week. I'm not quite sure what format it will take but it will look nice and be easy enough for you to download the musters and muster rules.

An Atalantes December

Next month we'll be bringing you some awesome Atalantes miniatures - Rafael Callegari will be sculpting Herakles and the Khalkotes, and Dray Win will be sculpting the Kórikolossi and Olympia. The new Kyros is also ready for a release, so watch out for him, and hopefully there'll be something... winged... as well!

We'll leave you, though, with yet another amazing piece of artwork by Quinn Colvin. Three guesses as to who this is...
