Thrada, Cavern Nihtbat

The lows and the downs and the cliffs of the Jutish kingdom are home to a great number of creatures that defy belief, creatures that crawl and stalk and writhe and slither: and whilst many fly, few evince the terror the bats of the night unleash. They come unseen and unheard from the caverns and caves, gorges and defiles, selecting their prey with sound alone, prey as big as a horse: for the largest among them have strength enough. Over time, not least to save their own people, these night creatures have found their way into the hosts of the Jutes, for they have ever been masters of beasts; and in battle the night-bats have rewards enough to ensure their kin endure and the unwary enemies of their human allies destroyed.
