Howling Cnebba, Mægenwulf

Of hard strength and unyielding anger is Cnebba, for the soil has not yet claimed him and will not until his sons no longer have need of him: few of his like remain, in truth, and it is unlikely Mierce could survive without the controlled ferocity and the animal savagery of he and the other wulfas that skulk in the deepest vales and the darkest heartwoods of the land. The oldest, the mægenwulfas, know nothing but hunger: hunger for the blood of their ancient enemies, a thirst that can be quenched in the wars their descendants entreat them to join: but even should that hunger fade, their dim understanding that their kin has need of them might be enough to prevent them becoming truly feral, and lost. For Cnebba, it is perhaps a stronger awareness than some, for his line is that of Wōden, and so that of Penda, and it is he that is often seen when the horns of Mierce call.
