Collectie: Legio II Var

The second legion of Var, commanded by the venerable Titus Aurelius and honoured for its past glories under many previous legates and over countless seasons, is but one part of the greatest army the world has ever seen, yet it is an army reborn: for the innumerable legions of Byzantia are not only composed of the legionaries, auxilia and prefects once thought to be so resolute. Since the immortal Emperor rose to power the strength of the legions has been magnified greatly by the ravening, unspeakable horrors of Infernus as well as by the changes wrought by their mere presence beside human soldiers, but this is as it should be, for Titus - as the legatus of a legion raised where the Romanii conquered first, so many hundreds of years ago - knows that the history that is yet to be made will show that the weakness of his ancestors has stood to be corrected by an empire whose soldiers had faith in a stronger pantheon, a pantheon directly opposed to that of the one god.
